About the Department
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Qom was established and operates with the aim of advancing knowledge, research, and technology in the fields of aviation sciences, space sciences, and advanced technologies related to the aerospace industries. This department, responding to the country's growing need for skilled specialists in the design, analysis, and manufacturing of aerial and space systems, strives to provide a scientific and dynamic environment for nurturing creative and research-oriented students.
The establishment of this department marks a turning point in the expansion of engineering disciplines in Qom Province and has paved the way for applied research and industrial collaborations in areas such as aerodynamics, flight dynamics, propulsion, aerospace structures, and space science and technology. Relying on its expert faculty members and access to educational and laboratory infrastructures, the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Qom is taking steps toward enhancing the university's academic standing and addressing the country's technological needs.
The initial structure of the department has been designed to benefit from the scientific capacity and experiences of existing departments within the Faculty of Engineering, including the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, so as to provide a diverse range of knowledge and skills in aerospace-related fields.
The core idea behind this approach is for the Department of Aerospace Engineering from the very beginning to have a solid foundation for education and research in various areas, including: aerodynamics and flight dynamics (drawing on the expertise of Mechanical Engineering), control and electronic systems (relying on the knowledge of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), simulation and data processing (utilizing the capabilities of the Department of Computer Engineering), as well as propulsion and advanced fuels (with the participation of the Department of Chemical Engineering). In this way, the structure of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Qom is built upon interdisciplinary collaboration and synergy.
